Achievements & Story

<P>Established individual rescue record of 50 souls at Putnam, CT, in August 1955 by helicopter. Flew 35 different types of aircrafts (including 5 with modifications). Note:  the record 50 was derived by rescues of 8 in the evening followed by 42 the next morning.</P>
<P>Was youngest Chief Pharmacist Mate in the regular Navy in 1943 at the age of 22. </P>
<P>Honor Student at Hospital Corps School. </P>
<P>Helped to capture kidnapper of Facundito Bacardi in Sierre Madres 2-19-54.</P>
