<div>Enlisted in May 1943 and entered active service July 1943.</div><div>12 weeks Prep Flight, Monmouth, Illinois.</div><div>17 weeks Pre-Flight, Iowa City, Iowa.</div><div>16 weeks Primary, Norman, Oklahoma.</div><div>36 weeks Basic, Instruments, Advanced, Pensacola, Florida.</div><div>Commissioned in March 1943.</div><div>Appointed a missionary to Indonesia by the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board.</div><div>Completed building of the first Baptist church on island of Sumatra-still in existence.</div><div>Survived with his family a passenger jetliner crash in Manila, Philippines. Helped to evacuate passengers.</div><div>Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Lafayette, California.</div><div><br></div>
