Stride to Remember
Cindy is embarking on a journey to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, as part of a fundraiser to support the Return with Honor, Prisoner of War exhibit at the National Naval Aviation Museum. Rising majestically above the African plains, Kilimanjaro stands at about 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) and is a dormant volcano known for its three volcanic cones. Climbing this colossal mountain is no small feat, typically requiring trekkers to traverse five different climate zones, from rainforests to arctic conditions at the summit. Cindy’s climb is backed by three dedicated friends who are rallying support for her ascent, aiming to raise awareness and funds for this significant cause. Their collective efforts highlight a deep commitment to honoring the history and sacrifices of our service members.
