Wall of Honor

The Naval Aviation Museum Foundation is kicking off its new Wall of Honor campaign by recognizing past and present service members. The Foundation is accepting online submissions beginning Wednesday, Nov. 11, through Monday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. CT.

Foundation to Honor Service Members in New Wall of Honor Exhibit

Criteria for the Wall of Honor story submissions must include veterans from the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps, living or deceased. If you know a veteran who you think should be honored, the online submission form must include a photo, written story, name and military branch of the service member.

Submissions will be reviewed and the five individuals with the most compelling examples of service and contributions to Naval Aviation will be selected by January 1, 2021, for the inaugural inception of the new Wall of Honor exhibit, scheduled to unveil in Spring 2021. These service members will be permanently recognized as the first plaques to be installed in the Wall of Honor exhibit.

The Wall of Honor exhibit will be located on the Museum’s second floor in the Foundation’s Hall of Honor. Plaques will be viewed by hundreds of thousands of visitors to the National Naval Aviation Museum each year for generations to come.

After the New Year, once the five selected service members are announced, a limited number of honor plaques will be available for purchase. Plaques are photo engraved on a silver aluminum plate measuring 5-by-7 inches. Plaques can include photos, text, insignias and logos. Honor plaques will be available for $2,500 with limited spaces available.
